God Is Love

If you were to choose one word to summarize or epitomize God’s nature, what would it be? Various Greek philosophers had their ideas, as did the Egyptians and other cultures.

But there is one concept of the epitome of God’s nature which is found nowhere in Greek philosophy or Egyptian religion, but is found in the Bible. And in this concept we can come to understand in a profound way not only the nature of God, but how we can, with his help, become like him as he intends. The Bible tells us that “God is love.”

God’s love is reflected in the festivals he commanded to be kept, such as the Passover, which depicts the sacrifice of Jesus Christ to pay for our sins. In this message learn more about God’s love, and how you may benefit from it, and learn to share in it, to the end of eternal life in God’s family and Kingdom.

Unlocking the Mystery of Mankind’s Destiny

As human beings our lives are largely consumed by those things that we think are important at any given time. In reality, however, those things we think are so important are really of fleeting significance, and will soon be forgotten. Those things that truly are important, however, and that are of lasting significance, are commonly given scant attention. Mankind’s destiny is not only a subject about which most people know almost nothing, but it’s also a subject to which most people give little thought or concern.

As Christians, however, we are instructed by our Master, Jesus Christ, to make God’s Kingdom not an afterthought, but the central focus of our lives (Matthew 6:25-34). Flesh and blood cannot inherit the Kingdom of God (1 Corinthians 15:50). The revealing of what is indeed a mystery, something unknown to most people today and throughout history, mankind’s destiny, the destiny God has in mind for every human being who is willing to meet his terms, and in particular the destiny he has in store for us if we remain faithful, is the subject of this article.

Is Heaven the Reward of the Saved?

A common idea among professing Christians who believe in an afterlife is that when a believer dies, he “goes to heaven,” that is, his “immortal soul” goes to heaven.

Where did that idea come from? And does it stand up to what the Bible actually teaches? Does the Bible teach that when a faithful person dies, he doesn’t really die, but instead “goes to heaven”?
