Feeding the Sheep

What did Christ mean when he told Peter to feed his sheep? (John 21:15-18). Did this assignment apply only to Peter, or are there others charged with the responsibility of feeding God’s sheep? How does this apply in the Church? How are the “sheep,” as they are described in this analogy, to respond to what they are being fed? How might it apply in a broader sense to others not in the Church of God? Do you share in the responsibility to feed God’s sheep? And if so, how?

Peace Offering Symbolism

Although under the New Covenant animal sacrifices are no longer required, we can learn much from certain spiritual principles underlying the sacrifices offered under the Old Covenant Levitical system. Spiritual principles related to the peace offerings can be profitably applied to the worship of the true God now and into the future.

Discerning Christ

In writing about the Passover Paul warned that it must be taken in the proper way and with the “discerning” of the Lord’s body in the Passover symbols. In “Discerning Christ,” are explored some of the deep spiritual implications of discerning Christ, and how that goes beyond the Passover itself to how we think and behave on a daily basis.

Mission of God’s Church in the World

The true Church of God consists of those whose names are registered in heaven — in the Book of Life. Beyond that, what is its purpose? What is the mission of the Church in today’s world?

Scripture reveals several responsibilities all members of God’s Church are accountable for. It’s important that everyone who is a part of the Church understands what those responsibilities are. And those who are not yet a part of the Church can benefit also from knowing what God expects of its members.
